Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, I was always keenly aware of the beauty that surrounded me. However, it wasn’t until I came to Provo, Utah for my college education that I realized that photography could be more than just an enjoyable pastime for me. I originally stepped on campus with the intention of majoring in Music Dance Theater, and someday performing on Broadway. I still think I could have followed that dream. But I took a freshman photography class and fell in love. Upon my acceptance to the selective Bachelor of Fine Arts Photography program at BYU, I saw a dramatic increase in the quality of my work. Several years later, I’m married and working regularly as a professional photographer here in Utah, and don’t think I could be any happier. I think Ansel Adams described well what I most fell in love with about the art.
“You don’t make a photograph just with a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved.”
Something that I feel sets my work apart is my attention to detail and my style. I’m often complimented for my dramatic use of light, both natural and artificial, to create images that are distinctly me. My bag currently holds a Canon 5D Mark III, a set of Canon portraiture lenses and my professional lighting setup. I’m available for wedding photography here in Utah, and love to travel as well! I also have done a lot of commercial photography, including headshots, product shots, commercial video, and commercial narrative photography. I’m also available for you next portraiture session for your family portraits, baby photos, senior portraits, or whatever else you may need.
